Team Information

BOYS BASKETBALL

GOALS: IMPROVE BASKETBALL SKILLS, GAME KNOWLEDGE, HAVE FUN, AND TEAM ORIENTED
On the first day of practice all players will meet in the gym from 2:30-2:40pm. Coaches will review tryout procedures during this time. Due to the large turnout of boys this year, we will hold practices both in the mornings and afternoons.  Your student will be handed a practice schedule. Please check with you student for schedules. JV/V tryouts will take place from 3:40-4:30. During the regional practice JV/V will be in the commons for study hall.

There will be 12 varsity players and 13-14 JV players selected. No players will be cut. Everyone makes a team. All players need to have 8 practices before their first match. All teams have home and away games against other schools in the district.

Athletes need to bring athletic clothes, basketball shoes or good athletic shoes and a water bottle; those trying out for Varsity may want a snack.

Athletes will store their backpacks on the side of the gym during practice and in the stands during games.

Parents need to arrange a ride for their child after practices – there will be a bus to away games which all athletes are required to ride. They may be picked up from the away meet or ride back to IMS where they will need to be picked up. If they ride home with an adult who is not a family member you need to fill out a transportation permission form handed out by your coach.
Your child should receive a parent packet with more information and schedules during the first week: including a bus permission form that needs to be signed and turned into COACH prior to taking a bus.
