SBA & WCAS Testing
Once a year, in the spring, we administer State Testing in form of the SBA (Smarter Balanced Assessment) and WCAS (Washington State Science assessment for 8th Grade) at Inglewood Middle School.
The Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) is a system of assessments aligned to Washington state standards in English language arts/literacy (ELA/literacy) and mathematics for grades 3-8 and high school. Test Format SBA tests are done online, and they are not timed. Students will be given appropriate time to answer all questions.
The WCAS is the Washington State science assessment for 8th Grade only. It measures the level of proficiency that Washington students have achieved based on the Washington State 2013 K-12 Science Learning Standards, which are the Next Generation Science Standards.

2023 Test Results

Smarter Balance Assessment (SBA) - The District will post test results into Skyward Family Access in June 2023. Both the score and a PDF of the actual test report will be available. An email to families with more information will be sent as soon as it is available.
WCAS (8th Grade Science) - Test results won’t be available until late August or September.
