Out of District Credit

Consider This!

IMSGuidetoOOD.pdf
This is a guide on how to obtain Out of District (OOD) credits, with step-by-step instructions and various icons and graphics to illustrate the process.

GENERAL

Students may be granted credit for learning experiences completed outside Lake Washington School District (LWSD), provided the learning experiences meet the criteria outlined within the district procedures. Approval of credit (not necessarily a grade) must be obtained prior to enrollment and/or participation in the outside learning experience in order to be eligible for consideration for high school credit on the LWSD transcript.

The principal may approve courses from a non-district public high school; or an accredited private school; or from a post-secondary institution providing non-college credit. Acceptance of such credit is limited to seven (7) credits. Only three (3) of these credits may be used for grade improvement. There is no limit for credit recovery. Before you enroll, apply for out of district credit (OOD) by filling out and submitting.
