Inglewood Library Catalog

Students can log into our Library Catalog via Classlink on their laptop.

You will be able to see the checkout status of all items and any past or current fines. Each item has a series of letters and numbers in the parentheses. This is the Lake Washington School District Barcode. (MLWSD000012354 / 02025101234567)

You can use this information to double check the barcode number of textbooks and laptop items on your account. This is important because sometimes laptop chargers and textbooks get mixed up between students. Compare all the barcodes of the items you have to the ones listed in Destiny. If they don’t match, please contact one of the library staff. If they all match you can be sure your account will be clear when you turn them in.

LWSD ebooks are now available for summer check out via Sora from Overdrive! Use this link for directions on how to access the very latest and best books available to LWSD secondary students. You can also access Sora via the Office 365 Waffle.

Information about Laptops

Students, come to the library if you are having issues with your laptop. Depending on the problem, we may be able to troubleshoot for a fix quickly or submit a HelpDesk ticket for you.

We encourage students to register your password in the event you have difficulty logging in to your student account. The process is simple and quick! We can help you reset your password in the library but doing this process ahead of time will mean you're never locked out! Locked out? Here's the link to access Password Recovery.

LAPTOP MAINTENANCE:

Charge your computer every evening and restart it every day to keep it healthy and updated.

If anything is not working properly, try a restart first to see if that will fix your problem. If that does not help, contact library staff for help. Ms. Stroup, M. Vallene, and Ms. Sripada are here to help, and Mr. Burgmayer is our technician.

How to restart your laptop?
1. Click the Start button in the lower-left corner of your screen. You can also press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the Start menu.

2. Click the Power icon.

The Power icon is directly above the Start icon.

3. When you click the power button, you will have the option to put your computer to sleep, restart it, or power it down. Choose “restart”. (A restart can take up to 10 minutes.)

Do you use Common Sense Media? CSM has always been a great resource to provide age-based media reviews for families for books, movies, apps & technology and more. They now have added some thoughtful coronavirus resources for parents as well. Look for the link on the top-right of the main Parent Resource Page.

Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a cooperative effort between Inglewood, Rose Hill, Kirkland, Finn Hill, Kamiakin, Renaissance, Evergreen, Redmond, Stella Schola, International Community and Timberline Middle Schools. This program allows 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in each school to work together as a team and challenge other schools to correctly answer questions about the selected books. The goal is to encourage students at all reading levels to engage in teamwork while reading some of the best in children’s literature. Challenge questions are based on specific and factual information within the books.

The book list for the 2023-2024 Battle of the Books competition is here! We have copies of the books in the library - come check them out!

Permission Forms will be available in late September.

The building challenge will be held in March 2024 with the top team from each middle school proceeding to the Lake Washington School District challenge later in March 2024.

Congratulations to our battle of the books 2023-2024 winning team - Vanquish!

On, March 26, the IMS Battle of the Books (BoB) Team of Vanquish took first place at the Lake Washington District BoB competition at Kirkland Middle School. The Vanquish team is made up of Sahana Sudhagar, Krithi Kommidi, Shamika Ambekar, Ananya Kota, Mahika Tanpure, and Amrutha Achalla. Congratulations to these awesome students! They were incredibly well prepared and had a perfect score, which is pretty rare. They are such awesome kiddos, and it is an honor to be their librarian. - Mrs. Stroup

Used Book Exchange 2024

Clean out the bookshelves - IMS Used Book Exchange is coming soon!

Step into the wonderful world of books at our upcoming Used Book Exchange! Bring your pre-loved books (4-10 grade level) and discover new adventures waiting at our event. It's a chance find new books while giving your old favorites a new home. Join us in celebrating the joy of reading at our Used Book Exchange.

Students will have an opportunity in their ELA classes to come to the Used Book Exchange.

When will book donations be accepted? Volunteers will be collecting at the front door and the side door (bus entrance) from Monday, January 22 – Friday, January 26.

Which books will be accepted? Books for grades 4 through 10. Please print out the Book Bucks Collection Form, fill it out, and bring it to school with your book donation. Thank you!

When will students visit the Used Book Exchange? Between January 29th and February 2nd in the Library during their ELA classes.

Want to have some fun with our students, volunteers and staff, helping to collect and organize books? Sign up for a slot to help.
